kea - New Zealand's highly intelligent, playful [and protected] mountain parrot
Maungawera Lodge is ideally situated to take advantage of it's central locality between the Central Otago and Southern Lakes, including Fiordland National Park, many ski areas, and New Zealand's West Coast World Heritage Park area.
Many life times could be spent exploring this wide ranging and remote, varied terrain. The activities possible are legion, and Maungawera Lodge specialises in hosting hunting and fishing visitors. The Hawea river, as featured in the photo above, is only 10 minutes walk from the Lodge. Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka are only 10 minutes drive away. All are stocked with trout and some land locked salmon.
